On the same day as announcing the retirement of stable warhorse gelding Cascadian, Godolphin has also retired 2022 Caulfield Guineas winner Golden Mile.

The son of son of Godolphin's G1 Golden Rose-winning sire Astern and Gimcrack Stakes-winning Lonhro mare Calaverite heads to Godolphin's Northwood Park stud fit and sound after finishing third in the Group 2 Victory Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm last Saturday.

A winner of 5 races and placed on five other occasions in his 20 start career – nine of which were in group one races, the four-year-old heads to the breeding barn having collected more than $4.3 million in prizemoney.

Golden Mile's win in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) posted a Timeform rating of 114.
