Victorian farm to focus on broodmare management and sales
Blue Gum Farm will no longer stand stallions with farm owners Philip and Patti Campbell deceasing to focus on broodmare management, raising of young stock and selling weanlings and yearlings.
The Campbell's first stallion was Noalcoholic (Nonoalco) who arrived at the farm in 1984. Over the years the stallions that have stood at the farm include Umatilla (Miswaki), Rubiton (Century), Encosta De Lago (Fairy King) and Elvstroem (Danehill).
"It is a very enviable record and one that we are extremely proud of," said Philip Campbell.
"Brilliant performers the likes of Alinghi, Fields Of Omagh, Hay List, Mnemosyne, Princess Coup, Racing To Win, Rubitano, Sacred Kingdom, Umrum and so many more had their origins here. It is nice to know that we had a real impact in this part of the thoroughbred breeding industry and we thank each and every breeder who supported us with mares during that time."
Manhattan Rain, a Group 1 producing son of Encosta De Lago who has stood at the Euroa farm since 2017, will be offered in the next Inglis Digital Online Auction.
