Dundeel filly sets new Millions record

Dundeel set a new mark for the most expensive filly sold in South Australia when his daughter of Prettyhappyaboutit realised $375,000 at Magic Millions on Wednesday. That was $5000 more than the previous record, set last year by a daughter of Palentino.

Suman Hedge was the winning bidder, describing the filly as the pick of the week.

"We're thrilled to get her," Hedge said. "It's pretty competitive out there but she was a horse we had to have.

"We rated her the top filly of the sale, we felt she was the most athletic and had the pedigree underneath, so we're very happy to get her.

"She ticked every box."

Prettyhappyaboutit, a daughter of Magnus, counted the Listed Lightning Stakes at Morphettville among four career wins and is the dam of Yulong Command, who has won his past two starts at Moonee Valley.

The Dundeel filly, one of only three at the sale by the Arrowfield stallion, inherited the mantle as the top-priced filly of the 2022 offering from a daughter of Headwater who also went to Hedge, for $220,000.

At the midway point of Day 2, the highest-priced colt remained the son of Snitzel and Cross Amulet, who is a sister to Admire Rakti, who sold for $300,000 on Day 1.
