Finche, a Group winning son of Frankel (Galileo), has been sidelined again through injury. Chris Waller Tweeted a release on Friday saying that the gelding had suffered a tendon injury during a Flemington jump-out on Thursday.

“Finche has unfortunately sustained a low grade tendon injury following yesterday’s jumpout at Flemington and will therefore spell,” the release read. “A full prognosis will be made in a month’s time as to whether or not he will be ready to race in the Spring. It is disappointing for all connections, but fortunately it is only a minor injury in which we are not taking any risks. A spell is in the best interest of the horse.”

Finche has not raced since finishing ninth in the Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) on November 3.
