WARWICK FARM SATURDAY

RACE 2 (6) SERVANTE: Guy Walter-trained mare came in for heavy support to win over 1200m at this course on January 26 when having her first start for seven weeks but gave away to much start to the tearaway winner Mickelburg. Her effort to finish third was excellent as she had to go wide on the turn and sustained a strong run to the line to be beaten only 1.6 lengths. She is a big mare who will certainly be fitter for that run and makes a lot of appeal with 1.5kg less over this extra 100m.

RACE 6 (3) SKYTRAIN: Put many convictions behind him at his last start when he sprinted hard to the line to win a quality Listed race over 1100m at the Canterbury night meeting on January 25. While he is an unknown quantity under wfa conditions he is never going get a better chance to win a race of this class as his race fitness and proven liking for his home track at Warwick Farm gives him an edge over classier rivals lacking recent racing. Worth the gamble as the speed map points to him enjoying the run of the race.

RACE 8: (5) ZAKYNTHOS IMPRINTZ: In the toughest race of the day keep coming back to this honest gelding as an excellent value bet as he looks ready to peak at his third run since resuming on a track where he boasts an excellent record of three wins and three placings. He is well drawn to sit on the pace and no horse is better weighted as he drops 5.5kg on his last start second over 1400m at Rosehill with the benefit of a 3kg claim for gun apprentice Jenny Duggan.
