Verstappen (Race 5) has taken over as favourite at $3.50 having firmed two points since markets opened. The gelding resumes with a strong fresh record of a win and a nose second at Moonee Valley from two previous fresh runs.

Bastille (Race 6) opened as equal favourite but now stands alone at the head of the market at $2.70 having firmed close to two points early. He showed terrific promise at his maiden campaign, winning his first two starts before a Flemington second and could race through his grades this time in.
