 Kiss to salute at Muswellbrook

The finale at Muswellbrook is a competitive looking Benchmark 58 handicap set to take place over 1000m.

Sunday Bell has shown good form in three starts this prep and is expected to have her supporters.

Noel Boland's gelding resumed with a fourth-place finish when jumping at $31 for a 1000m Class 2 handicap at Tamworth in May.

A narrow victory when dropped to 900m at Scone followed, prior to a close third when racing in a Benchmark 58 handicap over 1000m at Gunnedah.

The four-year-old has raced on wet tracks in each of his last two starts. However. he has a wide alley to overcome here and with that in mind CUPID'S KISS is preferred.

The five-year-old is set to jump from barrier five here having won two of her last four starts.

The first of those victories saw her triumph by a narrow margin when contesting a 1000m Benchmark 58 handicap at Taree in May.

While the 3.60 pick failed to complete a double when third over the same track and trip a week later she returned to winning ways when saluting over 1007m a month ago.

The selection confirmed her liking for wet tracks when winning by three lengths on a heavy 8 track on that occasion.

The mare arrives here on the back of a one-and-a-half-length second in a Benchmark 58 handicap over 1007m at Taree on 25th June.

The mare had three of her rivals behind her when racing on a heavy 10 track that day and she looks capable of returning to winning ways.

 Tyrol to triumph at Kilcoy

A soft 6 track is expected at Kilcoy, with the sixth race on the card a 1200m Restricted 55 handicap.

The field has been decimated by scratchings, leaving Allezizzy expected to prove popular with punters for the Trevour Lambourn team.

The three-year-old lost out by a narrow margin when third in a 1200m maiden at Warwick in May.

The filly made amends when making her first start at this venue in a maiden held over the same distance here subsequently, however.

The daughter of Domesday came home over two-and-a-half-lengths clear of her nearest pursuer when racing on a soft 7 track that day.

Jace McMurray's mount again encounters a wet track and is likely capable of better than she showed when eighth in a Benchmark 58 handicap here last time.

However, Georgina Cartwright's mount FLYING TYROL is preferred, having registered a couple of solid efforts here in defeat in recent times.

Those efforts included a good fourth when racing in a Benchmark 55 handicap over this course and distance at the start of last month.

The 4.60 pick followed that effort up with an eighth at Gatton prior to placing third in a Benchmark 58 handicap held on a good 4 track here on 21st June.

The switch to a wet track is no issue for Taryn Churchill's representative who rates a leading player dropping in grade.

An inside alley is a positive for the five-year-old who is taken to deliver the fourth win of her career.

Layin' Up to break her maiden

They race on the synthetic track at Ballarat, with the opening race a 1400m set weights maiden contest restricted to three-year-olds.

Ciaron Maher's stable are represented by LAYIN' UP here, with the filly having placed on both previous starts.

The first of those efforts saw her beaten just under three lengths when third in a 1000m maiden on turf here in May.

The 2.50 selection raced in third for much of that contest and was ridden from off the pace when stepped up to 1200m on this surface here subsequently.

The daughter of Cable Bay stayed on nicely to be beaten half-a-length when runner-up in that contest and in doing so performed best of those ridden with restraint.

Mitchell Aitken takes the ride for the first time and, with the step up in distance expected to suit and an inside alley, his mount looks up to registering her first win.
