The Kensington Track is essentially the inner track at the Randwick race course.

Obviously located the same distance from the city as Randwick itself, the Kensington course is able to offer the same facilities to racegoers while providing another top racing surface for participants.

The Kensington Track effectively gives Sydney five race courses along with Randwick, Rosehill, Warwick Farm and Canterbury.

While mainly conducting midweek/public holiday meetings, into the future it may hold more Saturday cards and even night racing if it eventuates at headquarters.

Races are started from various non-conventional distances. The staying races are at 2400m but then the rest progress from 1000, 1150m, 1300m, 1400m, 1550m and 1800m.

Back in 2001, while the main Randwick track was being rebuilt, the feature Spring card on Epsom day, was conducted on the inner track. Final Fantasy won that year’s Epsom.
