The British and Irish stranglehold looked set to continue in the Prix Jean Prat this afternoon with some well-fancied rivals, but it was Good Guess who sprung a surprise by defying odds of 40/1.

The Prix Jean Prat at Deauville on Sunday is the sole opportunity for three-year-olds to taste Group 1 success over seven furlongs and provides the last chance for three-year-olds to bag top-level victory over the shorter trip before having to take on their elder rivals.

Jockey Oisin Murphy will ride 2000 Guineas winner Chaldean if he takes up his engagement in the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat at Deauville on Sunday.
