Thursday's Hove greyhound tips

MISSILE ONE can enhance his reputation still further by returning to winning ways in heat one of the Coral 515 Trophy at Hove tonight, live on the Premier Greyhound Racing service.

Coming from an in-form kennel in Seamus Cahill's - still on a high after Droopys Clue's Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic victory at Monmore at the weekend - Missile One was unlucky not to make the final of the JenningsBet Puppy Classic when crowded out of contention in the semi-finals but showed real pace at Nottingham.

Back on home soil tonight, the strong-running Missile One (8.41) can come forward for a comeback 500m trial spin and gets the vote over Asbo Lenny, who looks well pitched inside, and Newinn Port.

Heat two of the Coral 515 Trophy oozes class featuring last year's Coral Sussex Cup champion in the shape of Candolim Monsoon (8.59).

Derek Knight's star has roared back to winning ways last twice and is difficult to ignore in his current mood, although clearing a returning Never Say No is key. Any hold-ups would let in the strong-running pair of Uncle Freddie and King Combs.

A cracking card at Hove kicks off with the appearance of National Sprint winner Bombout Bullet (6.08) in the opener and Belinda Green's dog can return to home soil successfully after his recent Monmore campaign in which he was hardly disgraced. A snappy exit can see him account for the well-pitched Kilcash Jack.

Antigua Luigi (7.33) can make his rivals see red in heat two of the Coral 500 Maiden Trophy with Jason Heath's runner set to dominate matters in the run to the first bend and improve for his return A2 win last week, albeit clearing improving kennelmate Burrows Trigger might be key.

Feature contest on the night is the final of the Coral 500 Standard Trophy Final where Bluejig Baron (8.24) can strike for Crayford's Dave Lee - albeit the start will be crucial.

A missed break in the heats put the eventual winner under pressure from the get-go but he came through well to edge Pocket Gun and still post the fastest time. A quicker exit is paramount given the speed of Brentfordpenguin next door but a handy position into the turn looks on the cards. Noirs News is also a player given a plum draw.

Swindon is also on the open-race trail with the heats of the 78th Two-Year-Old British Bred Produce Stakes, the British-bred showcase.

Eight heats of this Category One event take place at the Blunsdon venue over 476m and Keefil Maverick (9.52) might save the best for last.

Phil Milner's runner clashes with Southfield Poppy in a tasty head-to-head but can use his edge on the clock following a fast trial to land the spoils in heat eight.

Other Swindon fancies are Kevin Hutton's Union Rebel (8.28) and Tom Heilbron's Romeo Crossfire (8.44), who will both be short in heats three and four, while another Hutton runner Coppice Ella (9.36) catches the eye in heat seven. The track and trip should suit.
