Hannah Green has had her third top-10 of the LPGA Tour season by finishing second at the LA Open behind winner Nasa Hataoka, with Minjee Lee tied for third.
Hannah Green has had her best finish on the LPGA Tour in 12 months by wrapping up second place at the LA Open behind runaway winner Nasa Hataoka.
Green's fellow West Australian Minjee Lee shared third at Wilshire Country Club.
Trailing final-round playing partner Hataoka by four shots at the start of play on Sunday, Green was unable to get any closer despite three front-nine birdies and another on the 15th.
A bogey on the tough par-4 sixth was Green's only blemish in a round of 3-under 68 that left her at 10-under for the week.
Green, who won twice in 2019 including her sole major, has three top-10s on the LPGA Tour in 2022 but has not finished better than second since the HSBC Women's World Championship in April last year.
"Definitely, really happy with how things are trending," the Australian said.
"It was nice to be a bit more consistent.
"Last week I got off to a great start and then just couldn't maintain it in Hawaii.
"So, I feel like once I get the putter hot, I'm pretty excited to see what's to come."
Hataoka, now a six-times champion on the LPGA Tour, recorded a closing round of 4-under 67 for a five-stroke victory.
A bogey on the 72nd hole left her at 15-under 269, a stroke off the tournament record set last year by Brooke Henderson.
World No.5 Lee finished strongly with birdies on the 12th, 15th and 16th holes after an up-and-down opening seven holes, which included three birdies and three bogeys.
The 2019 LA Open winner signed for a 68 to get to 7-under and tie with South Korean star Inbee Park (70 and Swede Madelene Sagstrom (66).
After seven straight pars, Hataoka put the tournament away on the par-4 15th when she raced in a 35-foot eagle putt to open a six-stroke lead.
"My putting was good all week," she said.
"That's it."
The top-ranked Jin Young Ko, tied for lead with Hataoka with three holes left Saturday before a bogey-quadruple bogey-birdie finish, had a 75 to tie for 21st at 2-under.
The South Korean ace had a four-putt double bogey on the par-3 seventh.
The LPGA Tour remains in LA for the Palos Verdes Championship which tees off on Thursday.
