Greater Western Sydney forward Jeremy Cameron has been named the AFL Rising Star nominee for round two.
Greater Western Sydney found a silver lining from their 129-point thrashing by North Melbourne when young forward Jeremy Cameron was given the weekly nomination for the AFL Rising Star award.
Cameron got the nod on Tuesday after kicking four goals in the new club's 28.15 (183) to 8.6 (54) round two loss at Bellerive in Hobart on Sunday.
Nineteen-year-old Cameron also took seven marks and had 12 disposals.
"For a young man playing just his second AFL game, Jeremy showed not just tremendous skill but also maturity," Giants coach Kevin Sheedy said.
"His effort in the third quarter when he kicked three goals was particularly impressive and demonstrated he has what it takes to succeed at the elite level."
Cameron was recruited from the Dartmoor Football Club in country Victoria and joined the Giants last year as a 17-year-old access selection.
