Marco Botti believes Tac De Boistron has "a very good chance" of upsetting hot favourite Leading Light in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in ten days.
Owned by Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock, Tac De Boistron was an impressive winner of his comeback race in the Group 3 Sagaro Stakes at Ascot in April before narrowly missing out on collecting the Yorkshire Cup when beaten a neck by Gospel Choir.
The seven-year-old, a 7-1 shot for Royal Ascot, ended last season with a win in the Group 1 Prix Royal-Oak over 2m and was also second in the Group 1 Prix du Cadran over the Gold Cup distance of 2m4f.
Botti said: "Tac has done so well for us, he's a star. I thought he was impressive at Ascot in the Sagaro with the penalty and he ran very well dropped back in trip and carrying a penalty when second last time. I think he has a very good chance in the Gold Cup at Ascot."
Tac De Boistron is set to be joined at Royal Ascot by Dandino, who has been off since injuring his off-fore before the Hong Kong Vase in December.
Dandino is being lined up for a shot at the Hardwicke Stakes and Botti added on his website: "Dandino has been fine since Hong Kong. He seems in tremendous form and we are very happy with him.
"We were considering the Coronation Cup but we preferred to wait for the Hardwicke Stakes. He has been working well and I think he is back to his best and he should be ready for that day."
