Melbourne filly Isabella Snowflake has undergone surgery for a severed tendon with her racing career all but over.
The three-year-old suffered the severe injury to her off hind leg in Saturday's Galaxy at Rosehill won by Bel Sprinter,
Her breeder and managing owner Craig McDonald reported that she had undergone surgery but the risk of infection was a concern.
"Surgery went well for Isabella - next few weeks/months crucial as infection is a worry. So far so good," McDonald tweeted.
The Mick Price-trained filly has had just six starts, winning four times over 1000 metres.
Isabella Snowflake was able to beat three home in the Galaxy despite the belief that she suffered the injury soon after the start.
