Unbeaten filly Villa Verde has been installed as an $8 early market favourite for the Group 1 Golden Slipper at Rosehill on April 6.

TAB Sportsbet Fixed Odds have opened their market for the Golden Slipper (1200m) on April 6 after second declarations for the lucrative juvenile event were taken earlier this week.

The agency has installed the unbeaten filly Villa Verde as favourite.

The Shaun Dwyer-trained youngster has not been seen publicly since a dominant win at Flemington last November but is on track to resume in the Group 2 Reisling Slipper Trial (1200m) at Rosehill on March 23.

Members of the fairer sex dominate the top of the market with the Peter Snowden-trained duo of Guelph and Metastasio quoted at $13 and $15 respectively.

Breeders Plate winner Whittington is also a $15 elect while Assail, Overreach, Safeguard and Thermal Current round out the eight runners quoted at under $20.

Also unbeaten in her two outings, some serious doubt surrounds Assail's chances of making it into the Group 1 2YO feature on April 6 with the filly still recovering after a hoof injury.
