Joining a group of six high-class gallopers from the Peter Snowden stable, Mental will be looking to improve the record of Darley's previous Australian exports with both Sepoy and Helmet failing to live up to their excellent form in Australia.

Snowden said Mental ranked as the best horse he had ever sent to the Sheikh, which is a measure of his opinion of the horse whose Patinack win was his seventh from just 12 starts.

"It's a bit sad seeing them go, but it's part of my job," Snowden said.

"I've probably sent them 15 or 20 horses so far, but I think this is the best of them."

Epsom Handicap runner-up Ambidexter, Victoria Derby runner-up Induna, Free Wheeling, Detours, Pied A Terre and Adroitly will join Mental when leaving Australia in December.
