Dynamic Honour Scores Third Straight Win

Dynamic Honour has successfully made the step up to weekend grade by claiming a third straight win in the Blackwoods Pacific Hoists 3YO Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill today.

Sent out as favourite today after two straight wins in easier company, Dynamic Honour needed the entire length of the straight but didn't disappoint when recording a neck victory to early leader Gaze In Awe.

His success gave Chris Waller a winning double to start the day after juvenile Fundido claimed the first event.

“The day has worked out pretty well so far,” Waller said.

Dynamic Honour is one of a small group of horses racing in Australia by American stallion Dynaformer who is best known in this country for producing 2010 Melbourne Cup winner Americain.

It was Dynamic Honour's first run over 1400m this campaign and Waller wants to get him over a further trip based on the the three-year-olds pedigree and today's grinding victory.

“It was the perfect race for him,” Waller said.

“What I like about him is that he really tries hard.

“He didn't really look like he was going to get there at any stage but he kept fighting and a horse like that who keeps finding all the way to the line is determined they do get there.

“He has a bit of upside yet.

“Being by Dynaformer you would think coming through the lines of Americain he is going to stay. Hopefully he does because the further they get the easier they are in my opinion.”

Leading jockey Hugh Bowman echoed these sentiments.

“He didn't ping like he did last start,” Bowman said.

“He feels like he is looking for more ground, either that or a spell.

The pair sat fifth in the run as Gaze In Awe set the pace. They peeled out from the 600m and on straightening gradually reeled in the leader only to collar him inside the final 50m.

“It took me a while to relax him but I got him in a nice rhythm. I got flushed out at about the 600m but the horse was going really well and I was confident.

“I didn't think I was going to get him [Gaze In Awe] at first however from the 200m I was confident.”

Rod Craig-trained Gaze In Awe held on for second over Peter Snowden-trained Sindarin.

A $100,000 purchase as a yearling, Dynamic Honour has now recorded three wins and a minor placing from five career starts with prizemoney earnings upwards of $75,000.
