Top local trainer Kris Lees was left with mixed feelings after his handy mare Lil And Grace won the Coateshire Broadmadow Mile on her home track on Thursday

While Lil And Grace dived late thanks to a fine Glyn Schfield ride to grab victory her stablemate Deemed broke down in the closing stages, dislodging his rider Corey Brown.

Vets feared Deemed would not survive his leg injuries while Brown was nursing a sore wrist but was able to continue riding at the meeting.
