Keep an eye on: Blackbookers - 22nd June 2022

Wet trackers were the theme of the day at Cranbourne and Canterbury, and we’ve got a horse to follow from each meeting.

Cranbourne Race 4- Idon'tgetit

This 3yo gelding appears to yet another Peter Chow horse that revels in the wet, having now posted back-to-back wins on heavy ground. The maiden win at Echuca was dominant when sitting on the speed, and his win at Cranbourne was impressive albeit in a different manner. He sat just off midfield in the field of eight and badly needed a run around the turn, held up when forced to duck back to the inside, which was clearly inferior ground as winners got right to the outside fence during the day. His effort to pick up and win with topweight was excellent, and so long as he can pick out more heavy tracks, Idon'tgetit can make it a hattrick next time out.

Canterbury Race 3- Cotton Fingers

A strong maiden win from this flashy Snitzel colt who was $875,000 as a yearling, sitting second in run and recording a nice victory at his first start for the Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou yard. Of the three 1250m maidens on the card, this was clearly the fastest overall time and Cotton Fingers did well to sit on a good tempo and win comfortably. The second horse, Wolves, tackled the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) last time in and has some handy form lines so the form does have some substance to it. I think there's further improvement to come and he can continue to progress nicely.
