Singapore Racing - Weekend Review - 1st and 3rd June

Justice Glory appears to be a horse to follow going forward after a very nice win on her Singapore debut over 1200m in a Class 3 on Sunday.

The former Australian galloper brought some solid form with her and stepping out for the Mark Walker stable for the first time on Sunday, settled back in the field for much of the race from an inside barier.

With Alysha Collett on board, Justice Glory was able to weave his way through runners in the straight, hitting the line strongly for a narrow win over the fast finishing Sandtop with Pioneer Seven a further length away in third.

In what was her third career win from the nine starts, Justice Glory ran to a Timeform figure of 79, still below her peak of 94 achieved twice in Australia.

Breeding suggests the three-year-old filly who is by Fastnet Rock out of a Zabeel mare will continue to improve into her four-year-old season and also as she goes up in trip.

Triple Trio

Earlier in the day, Triple Trio kicked off his career with a nice debut win in the Restricted Maiden over 1100m on the Polytrack.

Trialling well on two occasions in New Zealand, The Michael Clements-trained runner also a won a barrier trial at Kranji last month before stepping out a short priced favourite on Sunday.

Showing no early speed and settling back in the field after missing the start with Glen Boss on board, the three-year-old gelding edged closer along the rail throughout to find himself just behind the leaders on the turn.

Running on strongly in the straight, Triple Trip won by just under a length with Conatus G in second and Gamely a further fourth lengths away in third.

Triple Trio returned a Timeform figure of 65 and after missing the start but still doing enough to get the win could have a bit of a future ahead of him.

Pennywise

The following race saw Pennywise remain undefeated after taking out the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale Stakes 2yo Open (1100m).

The Ricardo Le Grange-trained runner was good on debut when winning the Nursery Stakes by two and a half lengths running to a Timeform figure of 77 and was able to improve on that figure on Sunday when running to 79.

Pennywise has now won both races in the Singapore Golden Horseshoe Series and will not head towards the Group 2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe (1200m) on July 13 where you would expect him to jump favourite and take plenty of beating.
