The Alvin Tan trained Super Fortune was one of the stand-out performances of the weekend when too sharp for his rivals on Friday night.
Lining up in the sixth event, Super Fortune continued his great run of form when displaying a sharp turn of foot over the 1200m journey.
Caught in a bit of a pocket inside the 400m, Super Fortune eased off heels and forced his way into the clear passing the 300m.Once into clear air he displayed a very sharp turn of foot, putting the race away in a few strides.
Ridden by regular rider Olivier Placais, Super Fortune continued his rapid rise and clearly relished racing on the fresh side (42 days).
Only lightly raced Super Fortune [Old Name: Man To Love] began his career in Australia under the care of Louis Baudron and collected one win from six starts.
Placing on a further three occasions, Super Fortune displayed decent ability, however he has gone to another level since joining Tan's care.Super Fortune made his Singapore back in July last year, proving far too good in Class 4 company.
In eight starts he has notched up five wins and three minor placings.On debut [Singapore] he recorded a Timeform rating of 74 with his latest victory seeing him return a new career peak figure of 95.
Not many horses are able to make the rise Super Fortune has in such a short period of time.In under a year he has made the jump from Class 4 to Kranji Stakes A, an impressive training performance to say the least.
With a length up the sleeve on the line, he remains open to further improvement and more wins appear in store.The handicapper did get another look at him on Friday, however he still looks to have more upside and still appears ahead of his current mark.
Super Fortune is a winner and one that can be followed confidently.
On Sunday stablemate Maximus also took a good step forward and is another galloper heading in the right direction.
An impressive winner three starts back, Maximus went on to confirm that level of performance when only narrowly beaten over the mile behind Black Swan.Well supported off the back of that effort on Sunday, Maximus won accordingly when leading throughout in the seventh event.
Given a picnic out in front, Maximus displayed a good turn of foot when racing away to score by two-and-a-half lengths.With close to five lengths back to third, it appears a solid piece of form and he should be aided further by a step up in trip.
He too is only lightly raced and can continue his rise through the grades — follow.
