Endless Drama wins 2018 Apollo Stakes Group 2 $250,000 at Randwick (NSW), 1400m.
Endless Drama improved on his promising first up third in the Carrington Stakes (Listed, 1400m) at Rosehill on 27 January to score a good win here. He settled in fourth place (one out and one back) behind a hot tempo (first 800m 46.16) before improving rounding the home turn. He challenged at the 200m and then fought best to score by a long head.
Global Glamour went quick early on and worked before crossing to the front. She then travelled well, grabbed a break nearing the 300m and was only overhauled in the closing stages for second after going too hard in the early stages. It was a game effort under the circumstances.
Comin’ Through raced in second last place in the eight-horse field, commenced a move from the 300m and then ran on well for third in a really promising first up effort.
Prized Icon raced in sixth place (one off the rails) and kept making good ground in the straight for fourth, beaten a half-length, in a good second up run.
Addictive Nature was ridden to the lead in the early stages and after then being pressured, eased to race in third place on the rails. He then battled on after his early efforts to hold (2 lengths) fifth.
