Singapore Racing - Weekend Review - 17th & 19th Of November

Deimos has continued his winning form this campaign with a solid win in the Open Benchmark 67 (1200m) on the Polytrack at Kranji last Friday.

The Cliff Brown-trained runner returned in terrific order with a win in a Class 4 over 1100m the start prior and came into the race off a solid trial effort over 1000m.

With very wet conditions by the last race of the night, Vlad Duric settled Deimos towards the back of the field out of trouble in the pelting rain with Secret Mission setting the tempo.

With the blink of an eye, Deimos emerged from back in the field to claim the leader at the 300m and prove too strong over the concluding stages to win by just under a length from a gallant Secret Mission second and Himalaya Dragon third.

Deimos returned a Timeform figure of 87 just one pound above his first up win to claim his fourth win from 11 starts.

Working his way through the grades well, the Cliff Brown-trained runner will not go for a break and come back next year.

Once considered among the leading three-year-olds earlier in the year, Deimos was only fair in some feature races but has certainly shown enough to this point to suggest he has a very bright future ahead.

Earlier in the programme Super Power secured his maiden win with a dominant four length victory in the Restricted Maiden over 1400m on the turf.

Third on debut before a fair run for sixth in the Group 3 Juvenile Championship prior to a spell, the Ricardo Le Grange-trained runner was first up on Friday following two trial wins and stamped himself as one to follow going forward.

Leading all the way for a dominant win over Zulu Warrior and Crown Gift, Super Power returned a Timeform figure of 83p which indicates he is certainly a horse on the rise with plenty of ability.

Le Grange indicated the son of Power (GB) will be aimed at the 3YO Challenge next year which kicks off with the Group 3 Singapore Three-year-old sprint (1200m) on March 30.

If Super Power can continue to improve there is no reason he can’t be very competitive in those feature races.

On Sunday talented three-year-old Nowyousee remained undefeated with a half length win over Lim’s Sincere in the Class 4 over 1000m.

Settling in the second half of the field after an awkward jump, followed by clipping heels, the talented galloper was able to wind up late under heavy riding to wear down his rivals and claim his second win from as many starts.

Still doing plenty wrong in his races, the Ricardo De Lange-trained runner is winning races on raw ability and ran to a Timeform rating of 81, three pounds above his easy debut win.

Le Grange indicated he will keep the speedster at the 1000m trip for now and still being able to win after several setbacks during the run show he is a class horse on the rise.
