Assign went to the front and settled really well, setting a steady tempo. He lifted the pace on passing the 800m, was challenged nearing the home turn and kept fighting back gamely to score a gutsy win by the barest of margins.

Big Memory raced behind the leader, challenged at the 200m and after quite a battle, he failed narrowly in a photo for a very good second.

Pemberley was fifth on the rails in the small six-horse field. He pushed out at the home turn and made ground in the sprint home for a really good third.

Prince Of Penzance was last to the 600m, went deep at the home turn and did well in running on for (3.2 lengths) fourth.
