Berisha wins 2016 Mornington Bmw Cup Listed $300,000 at Mornington (VIC), 2400m.

A wide alley saw Berisha amble out of the gates, drift over towards the rail and settle second last (one off the fence) by the time the field reached the first corner. At the 1200m, there was no change but at the 700m Berisha moved swiftly up on the fence but had major traffic problems starting the bend then got off the fence, pulling wide to make his run. Just before the short home straight, although wide, a split was there for the taking and once balanced he gathered in the leader and grabbed the lead for himself inside the last 50m and held on gamely for two strides for a thrilling win.

Big Memory had a nice run, one out and three back down the side and past the 1000m. He went wide short of the last corner then took over the lead into the short straight, attempting to put the race away. Nicely clear, it was left to Berisha to run him down but Big Memory fought well to the line.

Lucky Lucky Lucky tracked Big Memory down the side, was not able to keep up around the last corner yet held second turning in, then battled gamely down the home straight to hold on to third.
