Consistent mare Tuscan Sling took her record to six wins from 11 starts with another good performance here. She began well and settled in fourth place, before improving (deep) from the 600m. She dashed to the front nearing the 100m and then fought back gamely for a very good win.

Favourite Azkadellia settled back in eighth place, tracked up nicely (wide with cover) from the 600m, switched deep at the 300m, loomed up at the 100m and then fought well in the sprint home for a sound first-up second. She should be improved by the outing and should also appreciate a more solidly run race.

Choose showed pace and soon drove through to lead. She then set quite a reasonable pace (first 600m 35.72), got a bit of a break at the 200m and then battled back gamely, holding on for a close-up third.

Top weight Wawail was a handy fourth, between runners, switched to the inner at the 200m and then fought on quite well for (1.9 lengths) fourth, seeming to have every chance at her first run this preparation.
