Sense Of Occasion wins 2015 Sydney Markets Ltd McKell Cup Listed $100,000 at Randwick (NSW) 3yo+, 2400m.

Sense Of Occasion was away well from the gates and settled in a good spot, one out one back in third position about five lengths from the leader Singing Flame who set a solid tempo. He commenced his move approaching the 600m three wide, looming up on the outside on turning for home. He hit the front at the 300m looking set for a dominant victory but Singing Flame fought back resolutely back on his inside, challenging again at the 150m, however, Sense Of Occasion had too much in hand to score cosily by three quarters of length.

Singing Flame ran well in defeat. He led and ran along in front leading clearly on turning for home before being headed by Sense Of Occasion at the 300m. He fought back gamely challenging again back on the inside, but the winner proved too good drawing away.

Our Voodoo Prince raced in clear second position a couple of lengths behind the leader. He took the field up to the leader and challenged him on turning for home but he quickly came under pressure at the top of the straight and stayed on gamely in the straight for third.

Jo Jo Girl came from midfield one off the fence to stay on strongly for fourth, just missing third on the line.
