Marky Mark wins 2015 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes Group 1 NZ$225,000 at Awapuni (NZ) 2yo, 1400m.

Marky Mark capitalized on a handy gate (3) and although the genuine speed saw him travelling just outside his comfort zone he was still able to position in fourth on the rail. Three lengths off the pace at the 600, Marky Mark was into the bridle rounding the home turn, received a timely split one of the fence at the 250m to join a line of four in front and quickened to a winning advantage when asked to extend.

Ridden up from a wide gate (13), Rocanto secured a nice spot in third before squeezing into the battle two off the rail at the 200m and he kept fighting to hold second.

Reminisce was off the pace in ninth passing the 800m and urged to pick up from the 650m she kept responding with a big finish wide on the track for third.

Our Rokkii staged a good effort for fourth. He was eighth in running on the inner, standing the leader seven lengths at the 600m and was unable to find clear galloping room near the rail before probing through late.

Bella Court was second last and a good ten lengths off the pace at the 600m, but once across heels at the 200 she bounded home in centre track for fifth.

Race favourite Selfie received a nice trip in sixth, was presented at a timely moment entering the straight and after levelling in front at the 250m he then weakened to (1.8 lengths) sixth.
