Durham Town wins 2015 Darley Plate Group 3 NZ$100,000 at Ellerslie (NZ), 1200m.

Able to secure an uncontested lead from barrier two, Durham Town began to work away from his rivals at the 300m and increased the margin under minimal urging to win easily. Durham Town gave those behind him little chance when reeling off the last 600m in 33.6, which allowed the winner of the corresponding race in 2012 his fourth stakes win.

From fourth on the outer, Shelford tried valiantly in finishing second and head a line up that saw five horses back to sixth within half a length of each other at the post.
