Buddy Bundy continued his winning run in the Lightning Stakes at Morphettville.
The favourite Buddy Bundy took his impressive record to six wins from nine starts but he did so very narrowly on this occasion.
He began well from his inside barrier (1) and was then eased to travel in second place.
He moved up outside the leader (Pink Perfection) at the 700m and he looked set for a clear win when went to the front from that filly passing the 200m, but he tired in the latter stages and just lasted to win by a short half head.
Herenoa went back at the start and settled fifth on the rails. He got a nice run through rounding the home turn, went to third at the 200m and finished gamely to just miss in a photo for (short half head) second.
Pistolier was eased in the early stages and settled last in the small six-horse field. He was under riding at the turn, improved along the rails to fourth at the 200m and then battled on for (3.5 lengths) third.
The two- year-old filly Pink Perfection led the field until the 200m before finishing (4.5 lengths) fourth.
The other two-year-old filly in the field, Cautious raced in fourth place to the turn and just battled on from that point to finish (6.1 lengths) fifth while three-year- old filly Killcareless was third, but wide most of the way, before dropping out to finish (13 lengths) last.
