Brayroan was ridden patiently by Chris Munce and was a distant ninth in the early stages, following a good tempo.
Brayroan improved nicely along the rails to be seventh on passing the 600m, got through to third before switching deep rounding the home turn. He hit the lead at the 200m and then drew away to win by almost three lengths.
Brave Ali looked for the early lead, as expected, but he could not cross after an early battle for leadership (with Mr O’Ceirin) and then remained in second place most of the way before going to the front on turning for home.
He then fought on particularly well for second after his early efforts, putting up a good performance.
Zennista[/] was near the rear to the 800m. She got through in the centre from the 600m and went to fourth at the 200m before battling on to take third.
High Kin plugged on from ninth at the 800m for fourth with [n]Ironstein[/] finishing (9.3 lengths) fifth after being a handy fourth most of the way.
The favourite [n]Mr O’Ceririn led early and would not surrender that position when challenged early before racing in second and third place from the 1200m. He then dropped out from the home turn to finish a disappointing (14 lengths) ninth.
