Cape Kidnappers was a little slowly away from the gates but was able to push forward and settled in fifth position on the fence behind the leader Adebisi.

He switched across heels at the top of the straight into the clear and loomed up to challenge. He found plenty under pressure and took the lead at the 75m and then having enough in hand to hold off Big Money who flashed home late along the fence.

Big Money put in a big effort coming from second last at the top of the straight. He weaved a way through and finished on resolutely to only go under narrowly, a big effort.

Rocky King ran well in defeat. He worked hard on the outside of the leader Adebisi in the run. He took the lead at the 300m and was left in front a long way from home. He battled gamely and only tired a little late on when claimed by the winner on his outside and runner up on his inside. A sound effort in defeat.
