Jacquinot Bay enjoyed a good trip, third on the rails, travelling well following a moderate pace (first 1400m 1:27.96).

He got a split on straightening, took the lead after passing the 200m and went on to score nicely by three-quarters of a length in a sound staying performance and a perfect ride from Kerrin McEvoy.

Honourable Aussie went to the lead and was able to steady to tempo in the mid-stages. He fought back well when challenged and fought on nicely for good second.

The David Hayes-trained Extra Zero ($4.50 fav) had a good run, fourth one out and one back. He went to third at the 200m and battled on from there to hold that position to the post, beaten four lengths, after having every chance.
