The 2012 Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Driefontein returned to the Gold Coast with a narrow but impressive win carrying 61kg to victory in this fillies and mares Quality event.

She showed good early pace and raced outside the leader Sept De Coeurs before going to the front on turning for home. She then fought back very gamely under her big weight when challenged to score a gutsy neck win.

Miss Leibert was a handy fifth, but trapped three deep. She went up to challenge shortly after straightening and kept battling on well for second, finding the winner too good despite a 7kg advantage.

Arms Length ($41) made good ground from tenth at the 600m, getting along the rails in the straight, for a close-up third.

The favourite Divine City ($2.70) was near last and caught wide. She went to the extreme outside at the home turn and kept making ground, without threatening, in the sprint home to finish seventh, beaten two and a half lengths.
