Mezeray Miss scored a game win in the Dandenong Stakes.
It was a surprise win here to the $31 chance Mezeray Miss.
She travelled well outside the leader, at an average early tempo (first 800m 49.60). She challenged at the 200m and battled on gamely to score a last stride half head victory.
Minaj began smartly and went to the lead, slowing the pace in the mid-stages. She grabbed a break on straightening and was only headed nearing the post for a close second.
Patricia Dawn had a good run in third spot on the rails to the turn. She then held on quite well in the straight for a sound third, beaten just over two lengths.
Metastasio was back in ninth place to the 600m and caught the eye running on late, in the sprint home, for a good fourth.
