Group 3 HKJC Maribyrnong Plate, November 9 - Flemington

Boomwaa emerged as one of Australia's leading early two-year-olds with a win at Flemington.

The Robbie Laing-trained Boomwaa showed promise in his first two starts and broke through for an easy win here.

He began smartly and led the field in the centre of the course, under a good hold. He steadied the early tempo and increased his lead from the 400m mark, going to the post strongly and winning impressively by three lengths.

Lockroy raced in second place from the 600m, and although no chance with the winner in the latter stages, he held on quite well for second.

Silent Whisper raced behind the leader and battled on for a sound third. Royal Standing was same most of the way and held his ground for four and a quarter lengths fourth.
