Group 3 Angst Stakes, October 12 - Randwick

Sharnee Rose notched back-to-back wins for the first time in her career winning the Angst Stakes on Saturday at Randwick.

The Kris Lees-trained Sharnee Rose followed up her recent good win in the Golden Pendant (Gr 3, 1400m) at Rosehill with another good win here.

She began well and got a good trip in sixth place one off the rails. She moved up well (three wide) rounding the home turn, came with a well-timed run to hit the lead at the 100m and drew away to win nicely by just under a length.

The well supported Queenstown ($5 eq fav) worked across from her wide barrier (10) to race in fourth place, but was trapped three wide without cover. She challenged at the 200m and fought on well after a hard run for a good second.

Her Gai Waterhouse-trained stablemate Porcellanus was second to the turn, took a narrow lead at the 200m and battled on for a good third at her second run this preparation.

Capital Commander led the field to the 250m point before tiring for fourth, beaten just under fourth lengths.

The $5 equal favourite Lucky Lago was eased from her wide barrier (14) and raced near the tail of the field wide, but made some ground for seventh, beaten just under five lengths.
