Listed Testa Rossa, September 29 - Caulfield

It Is Written produced a late burst to win the Testa Rossa.

The consistent It Is Written had a good trip, between runners, in about eighth place.

He was blocked nearing the turn but Nick Hall skilfully eased across heels on straightening and put in a good run to challenge approaching the 200m. He then finished a little too well to grab the lead nearing the post to score by a long head.

Richie’s Vibe was last on the rails in the 12-horse field to the home turn. He followed the winner through from the 300m, got to third at the 100m and finished nicely for a late closing second.

Chiaramonte ($3 fav) raced outside the leader (Sea Lord) and he looked the winner when he took the lead at the 200m but he tired in the closing stages for a close third.

Office Bearer ran on for fourth, while Essay Raider caught the eye coming from near last at the 300m for fifth and top weight (59kg) Second Effort also made ground for sixth.
