We are faced with a very wet track this week in Adelaide.
On days like this you just have to go looking for those swimmers and one is the Tony McEvoy runner Sasko.
This gelding has won twice on heavy going and two runs back scored on a complete bog at Cranbourne.
He led that night but might be able to take a sit on those leaders on Saturday as there looks good pace.
Forget the Ramsden run as he was outclassed there. He did win this course and distance last Spring. The claim is a bonus too.
On these heavy tracks you want to take horses hard fit and in Ice Ghost you have one who has been up for some time.
The 3yo is bred to swim being by Bradbury’s Luck. While he hasn’t won on the going before, consider he raced some good horses on it like Tongsai Boss and So We Are.
His placing in the Nitschke was a top effort coming from well back. Hoping with all the recent winners in the race, we might get some nicer odds come race time.
