It might well be a tough day at Doomben on another damp surface.
At least with a horse like Inspired Estelle you can be sure the mare will handle that.
Two weeks ago, on a Heavy 8, she rounded them up here over the same 1200m.
She now heads back to fillies and mares grade and is only 2.5kg over the limit.
On a day when handling the track could be as important as ability, she seems to have both those covered.
The strength of Jeff Lloyd will be handy late.
Earlier, even though first up at the mile, you can imagine Rudy has done plenty of work to be ready for his race in the Open Handicap.
He’s the only horse over the limit showing how much he has on ability on the rivals. That is then helped with Jag Guthmann-Chester’s 3kg claim.
The best thing in his favour is the conditions. He’s won five times on bad ground.
Resuming last campaign, he ran very well in the Recognition Stakes behind Crack Me Up. The form has only kept being reinforced.
Hoping the bookies risk him on the track.
