It will be hard for the Sydney meeting to take any of the limelight away from Flemington’s nine race card featuring four Group 1’s however those who can turn their attention North for a couple of races could well be rewarded.

The first occasion in which this should be done is the AMWU Benchmark 77 Handicap (1500m).

Liapari caught the eye late in his Australian debut, finishing a slender second to Dreamforce over 1400m at Warwick Farm.

The son of Nom Du Jeu settled last in a slowly run race before hitting the line strongly.

He will have taken benefit from the outing and can go one better on Saturday.

Liapari meets the winner Dreamforce 1.5kg better at the weights and finds a race early in the card in which he appears well suited.

Unlike his Australian debut, there looks to be good speed on up front which he can rattle home off.

His main dangers appear to be Dreamforce, Moher and Nassak who will all push forward and could potentially hurt each other with a solid tempo through the early and middle stages.

It potentially allows Liapari to have the last shot at them.

Going from Warwick Farm to Rosehill, the New Zealand import should thrive around his new home track with the substantially longer straight.

The additional 100m should also play into Liapari’s hands.

His best New Zealand form is also worth mentioning, namely a respectable three length seventh in the Levin Classic earlier this year and a third in the Wellington Guineas Trial last spring where he placed behind Xtravagant and Dubaiinstyle.

Elemenohpee profiles as another each way play contesting the Viridian Lightbridge Benchmark 78 Handicap (1100m).

The Team Hawkes-trained gelding went about working through his grades last campaign.

His hat-trick was achieved at this course and distance. It was an impressive one as well were he was ridden quietly from an awkward draw.

The son of Henny Hughes is proven first up, at the course and trip. He is also adept on both firm and rain affected surfaces.

Furthermore, he is a tractable type, able to be ridden both positively and quietly to good effect depending on how the race plays out.

Elemenohpee has drawn the carpark however Collett does have options considering how versatile the gelding is.

Off a pair of trials he can fire fresh at each way odds contesting a race which overall lacks in terms of quality and depth.
