Chris Waller saddles up a number of excellent chances early in the program at Rosehill on Saturday.

After a career best season which returned 223 wins for the stable and 14 Group 1’s, Chris Waller is off to a flying start for season 2015/16, having already trained 29 winners at a strike rate of 24%.

The stable in the process has achieved a profit on turnover of 42.3%.

Five of these winners have been partnered by Hugh Bowman at a strike rate of 63%.

With this in mind, Defrost My Heart is profiling nicely heading into the All Too Hard @ Vinery Handicap (2400m).

The mare is coming along in leaps and bounds this campaign and last start was a narrow winner over this trip at Warwick Farm.

Kept ticking over with a 1030m barrier trial, Defrost My Heart can make it three straight wins at Rosehill on Saturday.

The mare should be around optimum fitness at this stage of her campaign and find s a race where she boasts form and fitness over her rivals.

From an inside barrier, Bowman may elect to lead on the daughter of Fastnet Rock and take plenty of catching over the final stages.

Defrost My Heart, Chris Waller and Hugh Bowman are all in fine form at present and look set to commence the afternoon winners.

Silverball profiles as a sharp improver second run from a spell in the Listed Premier’s Cup (1800m).

The son of Kahyasi was fair on resuming here a fortnight ago, running sixth to Centre Pivot in a 1400m Open Handicap.

He overraced badly on that occasion and lacked the necessary turn of foot over 1400m in the straight.

A rise to 1800m second up and softer footing underneath play ideally to the gelding’s strengths on Saturday.

Tye Angland takes the ride who is fast becoming one of the go to guys for the Chris Waller stable and it is easy to see why.

Angland has quickly amassed 47 wins for the Waller stable at a strike rate of 16% and a profit on turnover of 16%.

He’s ridden the eighth most winners for the Waller stable and, of jockeys with ten or more successes for the trainer, he possesses the fourth highest profit on turnover.

Interestingly, the top two riders who fit this criteria were Darren Beadman with 40 winners at 61% and then his son Mitchell Beadman just behind him in second with 16 winners at 54.4%.

Of those actively riding, Angland sits second only to James McDonald who rides at a profit on turnover of 25.3% for Waller.

Tye Angland and Silverball in partnership possess genuine appeal at a good price so the French grey is definitely worth some thought.
