Early mail for Randwick on Saturday from Chris Scholtz.
ROSEHILL SATURDAY
RACE 2 (7) INZ‘N’OUT: Ready to peak third up after pleasing effort over 1100m at Rosehill last Saturday when he finished off nicely for second behind the talented Fell Swoop. Certain to appreciate the extra 100m with 2kg less weight and may get a soft lead in a race lacking hard pace.
RACE 7 (4) DARCIWOOD: Unleashed a big sprint from last to record impressive first-up win over this course and distance four weeks ago, showing once again that he can be lethal at Randwick when fresh. He’s unbeaten at Randwick, stays on the same weight and it’s obvious the Hawkes stable have him primed for the same result by keeping hinm fresh with a month between runs. Sufficient speed in this field should see Tommy Berry apply the same tactics by riding him cold from the back of the field.
RACE 8 (5) CHASTENED: Progressive mare is set to relish the step up to 1800m against her own sex after charging late to just miss at her last start over 1600m at Warwick Farm on a much heavier track than she will encounter here. She has the right credentials for this class as her only two starts beyond 1600m produced placings over this trip at Randwick in similar fillies and mares company at the end of her last campaign.
