Kingdoms has been very good in both runs this campaign and looks very hard to go past once again at Doomben on Saturday.
Formerly with the John O’Shea stable, Kingdoms has had the two starts for Brian Smith, winning the Listed Centenary Mile before running second in the Listed Tatts Mile last start after not having much luck.
The five-year-old gelding has since had a freshen-up and steps out in the Courier Mail QLD Taste Handicap over 1615m (Race 7 #1).
Larry Cassidy who has ridden the gelding his last two starts remains on board and despite carrying 59kg, finds himself in easier company and rates well on weight adjusted Timeform ratings.
If Kingdoms can replicate what he has produced the last two outings he should prove too good for these and the $3.80 on offer looks a good price.
Earlier in the day Leonardo Express (Race 2 #1) finds himself in an open race but based on recent outings looks well placed.
The Gary Duncan-trained runner has finished third in his last two outings over similar trips and is likely to find this easier.
Gets a much needed 3kg claim from apprentice jockey Matthew McGuren and rates well on weight adjusted Timeform ratings.
Looks a competitive affair but the each way odds of $6 looks good against these and if he can hold his form he is likely to be right in the finish.
Has run well enough on wet tracks In the past and despite being untried at the course should be right in this based on recent form.
Last week saw our bet of the day Gun Case win without too much drama and is certainly one to blackbook and keep an eye on in the future as he looks to have plenty of ability.
The each way play Hora Sexta was scratched making it a winning day. Good luck.
