Ringo backs up quickly after a solid showing in the Winter Championship last week and makes plenty of appeal in the ‘lucky last’ at Flemington.

Ringo strikes a race of far less depth than the one he tackled last week, and he stuck to his task well enough there to remain one to follow going forward.

His best form sees him well placed against this company and he can be gambled fairly confidently at the $6.00 each way.

The fact that Shenzou Steeds (750 days/23 runs between wins) comes up favourite in race 5 sets off alarm bells.

Fulgur is the early favourite but he was plain last time and is vulnerable to improvers, one of which is the Adelaide visitor Éclair Samba.

Éclair Samba comes up second pick but he’s got a good winning record (4/5) beyond a mile and is heading in the right direction on the back of the last start win.
