Early Mail For Rosehill on July 19

Early mail and best exotic plays for Rosehill on July 19 from racing editor Chris Scholtz.

ROSEHIL SATURDAY

RACE 3 (8) GREEN BERET: Joe Pride lines up three good chances in this field but this honest sprinter is the one to be with as he gets the benefit of Taylor Marshall’s claim to bring him in with 3kg under the limit. Kept fresh since he beat a similar field with authority carrying 56kg over this same course and distance 35 days ago with the subsequent winners Casual Choice and Skip Town, who both reoppose, among those well beaten behind him. These conditions look very favourable as he meets those horses on much better terms.

RACE 6 (4) GENERALIFE: Much improved 4YO has been the winter star of the Darley stable since John O’Shea took control, winning three of his last four starts capped by his comprehensive last start effort to beat a strong field in the Listed Civic Stakes over 1350m at this course two weeks ago. He’s paid a 2.5kg penalty but he’s finding these firm winter tracks to his liking and will be hard to catch if he lets down with the same turn of foot that saw him run away to win his last start by more than two lengths.

RACE 8 (8) ADORABEEL: Backing up for second race in seven days after letting us down at Randwick last Saturday when she didn’t finish of as expected after she raced too keenly when posted outside the leader. She’s down 4kg from that race with advantage of Sam Clipperton’s allowance and should be assessed on her previous effort when she probably should have beaten Romantic Moon over this course and distance after she was badly held up at the critical time. Ridden too close last Saturday and she can turn it around here as she is drawn to enjoy a soft run with cover.
