Heart Of A Lion has not drawn the best in barrier 8 but is likely to not be far away and looks very hard to go past in this company.
Just one race later in the ‘get out’ stakes Whitten’s Brew will be looking for her second win in as many starts after resuming in good order at this course last start.
Having been far from disgraced in Group company last preparation, the Tony McEvoy-trained runner does step up slightly in class on last starts effort but rates well on weight adjusted Timeform ratings and can get the job done again.
Winning jockey Ben Claridge stays on board and if anything the extra 100m on offer today is sure to suit the daughter of De Beers.
From barrier 9, Whitten’s Brew is likely to get back but will be running on strongly and at $5.50 looks a good price in this.
Earlier in the day Psychic Mick will be looking to bounce back after a moderate showing in the Wylie Handicap but does take on easier company in this.
The Daniel Clarken-trained runner won just two starts back in similar company to this but goes up in the weights and will need to show improvement on what he produc ,ed last start.
Nearest To Pin has been ultra consistent in recent times and is sure to be thereabouts along with the resuming Sysmo and on last starts effort willing to take on Psychic Mick, who is the current $3.80 favourite.
