Trainer Mr David Vandyke reported that, following an x-ray examination on Hidden Gem which pulled up lame in the near foreleg, the gelding was found to have fractured a splint bone, necessitating a lengthy spell.
Trainer Mr. Guy Walter reported that Skateboard, which dislodged its rider, apprentice Ben Vassallo shortly after the start, had pulled up well apart from some slight soreness in the off side knee.
