Leicester City are on the verge of appointing Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new manager, following the departure of Steve Cooper after a 2-1 loss to Chelsea on Saturday.
Cooper's short tenure at the club saw him manage just 14 matches in all competitions, securing only four wins.
Leicester, currently one point above the Premier League relegation zone, have not won in their last five matches.
Cooper, who joined Leicester this summer after Enzo Maresca's move to Chelsea, was dismissed earlier this week.
Ben Dawson, who arrived from Newcastle United in the summer to bolster Cooper's backroom team, has taken over as interim manager.
However, Dawson is not expected to lead the team for their upcoming match against Brentford.
Van Nistelrooy, 48, brings notable experience, having recently served as interim manager at Manchester United following Erik ten Hag's departure.
During his brief stint, he secured victories over Leicester in both the Carabao Cup and Premier League.
His appointment is seen as a bid to stabilise Leicester ahead of crucial fixtures, including matches against Brentford, West Ham, Brighton, and Newcastle.
Leicester fans will hope Van Nistelrooy's arrival sparks a turnaround in fortunes as the club seeks to avoid a repeat of their relegation struggles from last season.
