Sunday's Towcester, Sheffield and Crayford greyhound tips

Eyes down for a busy open-race Sunday with Towcester, Sheffield and Crayford all staging decent cards - with the latter’s Ladbrokes Guys & Dolls semi-finals the biggest races of the day.

However we start with Towcester and Table Toppers (4.26) can get back on track when lining up in division one of the Towcester Standard over 500m. Mark Wallis's dog has faced some tough asks of late, particularly behind the exciting Avongate Venus, but could be tough to hold at this level given a best time of 29.06sec.

Fabulous Dyna (5.39) is a bitch in tip-top form just now and can complete a hat-trick in the Towcester Stayers over 712m. Lawrence Tuffin's bitch can pace up into contention quickly and, although she has early-paced rivals given a few of these are stepping up in trip, the local runner might always be in a pitch to shine.

Earlier, Patrick Janssens' Druids Luna (3.11) catches the eye as an improving sort after a close call last week and looks to have a good make-up in this 500m contest, while Afzal Ali sends out his recent Irish intake Russmur Roddick (3.49) for a debut at Towcester this afternoon and might be the one to beat after smart trials.

Sheffield is also a regular on the Sunday open-race scene and there are a batch of open races at the Owlerton Stadium today. Among the picks could be Robert Holt's Tricky Wiggles (4.42) after decent efforts in just three starts with scope for improvement for the two-year-old. He should soon be handy in this maiden over 500m.

Bettys Jack (5.19), a regular winner for Kevin Boon but having his first run for new handler Colin Handford, is another eye-catcher in what looks an intriguing sprint given the field includes Newcastle's Northern Flat finalist Tonelagee and last year's Gymcrack winner Stormy News. However, Colin has always been top-notch with sprinters and Bettys Jack gets the vote.

At Crayford, the Ladbrokes Guys & Dolls semi-finals take centre-stage with Maxine Locke's Droopys Rarity (6.59) looking drawn for a bold run in the Guys semi. The Romford raider has a vacant trap inside to clear the way, especially with Madabout Peck set to take a middle course from lid-rise which could impact on those inside.

The Dolls semi sees Laughil Jess line-up aiming to land her second major Crayford title after last year's Gold Collar - the first three qualify for next week's decider. However, kennelmate Mini Eva (7.33) could be drawn for a big run if trapping as she did last time. Slipping clear early, she might be away from the likes of Time To Talk.
